The University aims, as stipulated in its law issued by Royal Decree No. (71/2006) dated July 2, 2006, to achieve the following:

First: In the field of higher education

Preparing university generations who are aware of their cultural and Islamic heritage and are keen to consolidate their faith in God and their loyalty to the homeland and the Sultan.
Preparing Omani youth who enjoy good manners, keen to adhere to the scientific approach, qualifying them academically and technically, accustoming them to self-reliance and continuous readiness to serve the country
Preparing Omani youth capable of creativity, innovation and lifelong self-learning.
Providing the Omani society with specialists and experts in various fields, taking into account the evolving needs of the labor market, within the framework of the State's policy for human resources development.
Continuous renewal of the educational process at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
