The association was established on the April 14, 2010. It became the first Omani association specialized in water in the Sultanate and is considered the second specialized association in the Arabian Gulf. It has a set of goals that contribute to promoting the concepts of water affairs. The association also has several future visions, whether in terms of studies or research, which in turn will contribute to developing local capabilities and support specialized personnel with experience, enhancing competencies, and improving performance in the fields that the association focuses on."
